My Before and NOW Photos

I know it can be hard to look at yourself when you know you’re not looking your best, especially if you’re extremely overweight. Been there, done that, got the 2 XL tee shirts to prove it. The last thing you want to do is to see photos of yourself. But, once you’ve made the decision that you’re going to lose that weight, there is nothing more important than Weight Loss Before And After Photos. So, do yourself a favor and take some.

We’ve Become “Selfie” Crazed

Everybody has a cell phone, everybody takes “Selfies” even “Selfie Sticks” are a huge business. A “Selfie Sticks” might actually come in handy to take your Weight Loss Before And After Photos. I just use a tripod and window light to take mine.

General Guidelines For Before and After Photos

  • Take three “before” photos (front, back, and side)
  • Take the best quality photo that you can, in focus, evenly lit and correctly exposed
  • Try to avoid shadows, by shooting inside in an evenly lit room or outside on an overcast day or in open shade. Avoid bright daylight and harsh shadows.
  • Try to fill the frame with your body, so not too far away.
  • Keep the top of your head in the photo and to at least mid thigh.
  • Keep the background as plain as possible, a plain wall is best.
  • Ask someone to take you pictures or get yourself a mirror, a tripod or selfie stick. Either way take lots of photos from each of (front, back, and side)

This video is pretty funny and very clever. I promise you this is not what I did for my “Before” and “After” photos.

I want you to think about something if you are trying to lose weight and you eat or drink any of the crap he’s using to blow up for the “before” photo… what do you think it’s doing to you?

Yeah I Know I Didn’t Follow Any Of The Guidelines

I’m a rebel, what can I say. The guideline above were taken from a contest that was held a couple of years ago, I wasn’t in that contest. Still they’re good guidelines.

My Before And NOW Photos

My Before photo was taken in 2012, I probably weighed in at 245 lbs. This was before I had ever heard of Dr. Joel Fuhrman.

I don’t want anyone to think that it took three years to go from 245+ lbs to 174 lbs, it didn’t. When I started on “Eat To Live” the average weight loss for 6 weeks was 20 lbs, I lost 27 lbs and was very pleased. I lost over 60 pounds the first four months.

180 lbs had been my ‘Dream Weight’ for years. But, it didn’t look to me to be my Ideal weight. I could still pinch several inches at my waist and had excess fat on my chest. I was not at my ideal weight, but I stayed around 180 lbs for 2013 & 2014.

By January 2015, I had stayed on ETL, but not strict. With the holidays behind me I weighed in at 210 lbs. I wasn’t concerned, I knew how to lose weight. I knew it would come off if I stayed strict on ETL.

By May of 2015, I was close to 185 again 185_5_2and by August I was at 175 lbs. Yes, the weight loss has slowed down, which only means I’m getting closer to my Ideal weight.

My NOW photo was taken Tuesday, August 25, 2015, and I weighed 174.2 lbs. This isn’t my AFTER photo because I’m not at my Ideal weight yet. I’ve still got about 20 lbs to go.

There are several people who do not agree; my wife, my boss, my doctor… but it’s my body and I know where I want to be… and I’m not there.

According to Dr. Fuhrman’s book “Eat To Live” somebody my height 5’ 10” I should weigh 155 lbs. My OMRON Full Body Sensor Body Composition Monitor and Scale agrees. My Body Fat Percentage for my age at the low end of the Normal range should be 13% I’m at 17.8%. 17.8% of 174.2 is about 30 pounds of Fat, I’d like to drop 20 pounds and get down to 155 lbs.

That 20 pounds might not be important to somebody, but it is to me. My understanding is that somebody with my family history of Diabetes, that even just 20 lbs overweight increases my chances of getting Diabetes by 50%.

Losing weight and exercise may be a hardship for somebody else, but it’s not for me. I know how to lose weight, eat great and never be hungry… I don’t want to change that.

I love my exercise routine, it makes me feel great. I can see it changing my body and the more weight I take off the clearer my efforts show. I don’t want to stop exercising I want to step it up.

I’m loving my journey and I’m doing everything I can think of to help others. Not to do as I say, but to do as I do. I know that IF, living a longer and healthier life is your goal… I can help you… more important it can be Fun and EZ.

That’s exactly what this website is all about.

Your comment and questions as always are warmly welcome and greatly appreciated.
